Day One. Sail Freo
It's 7 am on Sunday morning and the first of the images are going on line.
200 boats , who would have believed it. Fantastic sailing weather and a great bunch of people.
The Saturday was a fusty day. A little fog in the morning and enough breeze out of the west sou west to get the show under way. Very little swell and a slight wind chop as the day progressed. By mid morning the ocean had cleared up and the fog/mist was still on land , but we were in the clear. And the breeze picked up as well. We were averaging 8 knots across the course and by the afternoon, as they worked their way through the races there was an average of 10 to 12 knots with gusts of 17 knots. As usual the Charlwoods were busy and Gillian was working to get the regatta under way with her usual aplomb. Three courses set out Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, with the boats spread out between them. So get out to each one and get the camera working . More to say tomorrow.

Day Two Another great day on the water
An number of very tired faces fronted up for the breakfast rolls and started rigging boats. The promise was for late seabreeze with easterlies in the am. Not so, the seabreeze kicked in, slowly at first from about 11 am and shortly the courses started to fire up. I was on Bravo course so managed to get a few photos in then, across to Alpha course to catch up with the Opti's, Minnows and the like, then over to the High Performance boats at Charlie course .
Lots of fun as the wind started to pick up and the SB's were blowing spinnakers and Musto's were falling over all the time. Mind you the 505's were getting into the fun too and a couple of notable moments where the crew went out of the boat momentarily. Then the SB's started throwing people over board and it was decided that 5 races were enough for the day. I managed to catch Arthur in his Musto showing a bit of keel, but the sailor of the day was the Musto who refused to give up. A lap behind and the clock chasing him, the RO prudently felt a call of nature and despite falling over an hundred yards before the finish, the Musto pilot got home. Just in time. Well done that man! I'll see him at the Worlds in 2015.

Presentations. No excuses , with Cdre Bob in charge every one was lined up, photographed and sent on their way with a gift from the Musto people. Great stuff!
My thanks to Fremantle Sailing Club, the staff especially Lucy, Tristian and Diana and then the volunteers headed by Sean and the organization behind them. Appreciate working with them.
But the sailors and sailing is what I'm about . Enjoy the images
